  • What We Know About Rockstar Games GTA 6 Announcement

    Vlad

Rockstar Games announced GTA 6 in December 2022, after about a decade since the release of the fifth installment of the game. Initially, the announcement was set for December 5th. Yet, after a major leak, the creators had to release the trailer ahead of schedule.

This gave us tons of new information on the game, from the locations to the identity of the main protagonists. On top of that, Take Two, Rockstar’s parent company shared news of the game’s supported consoles.

So, if you want to learn more about the highly anticipated game, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’ll walk you through everything we learned from the Rockstar Games GTA 6 announcement.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Announcement Overview

Back in February 2022, Rockstar Games announced that GTA 6 was officially in development. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the company planned to release a trailer to tease the highly anticipated game. Unfortunately, a few months later, footage of the unfinished version leaked online in September.

18-year-old Arion Kurtaj released about 3GB of data showcasing the main characters and a snippet of the gameplay. This came as a major blow to Rockstar Games, which led the company to adjust its announcement timetable.

Lucky for us, this meant the GTA 6 Trailer 1 came out a little early! After Rockstar Games announced GTA 6, fans from all over the globe scoured the internet for news about the video game. To make your life easier, we’ll give you a full rundown of what details the company released in its statement.

    GTA 6 Trailer 1

We can’t talk about the GTA 6 announcement without dissecting the trailer. Starting with the first one, we got to see quite a few new details about the game.

Right off the bat, we learn the name of our main protagonist, Lucia. The opening scene of the trailer features a snippet of the character wearing an orange jumpsuit. So, we can assume that she’s had at least a few run-ins with the law. Rockstar also announces that Lucia will have a Bonnie and Clyde-like vibe and backstory.

While we don’t know much else about her history, this was enough to get fans excited. That’s because Lucia marks the first female protagonist in GTA history.

As a result, the first GTA 6 trailer broke viewership records since its debut on YouTube, amassing over 72 million views in 24 hours.

    GTA 6 Supported Consoles

One of the most important details we learned from the announcement is the GTA 6-supported consoles. For instance, the company stated that GTA Online wouldn’t support Rockstar Editor on old-gen consoles anymore.

So you won’t be able to access certain features on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the clip editor will still be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

Sadly, this means any existing clips will disappear by the time GTA 6 comes out. Because of that, Rockstar Games recommends that you export and backup any data you want to save in the meantime.

In other news, according to the official press release, the game will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in 2025. As a side note, GTA 6 won’t be launching on PC.

This isn’t much of a surprise. Considering that the PC version of GTA 5 came over a year and a half after the original game release, we may be in for a long wait.

    GTA 6 Setting

Most fans will be happy to know that GTA 6 is taking us back to a familiar setting. The game is set to take place in the fictional open-world state of Leonida, which is loosely based on Florida. Although, most of the action will happen around the fictionalized version of Miami, Vice City.

We can also expect to see locations like Port Gellhorn, Hamlet, Ekanfinika, and Lake Leonida. While fans are used to seeing these areas in a 1986 setting, GTA 6 promises a modern twist to the beloved streets of Vice City.

So, we can expect neon-soaked streets and a busy nightlife scene. Finally, as of now, Rockstar Games has yet to comment on the maturity rating of GTA 6.

    Wrapping Up

The Rockstar Games GTA 6 announcement came as a welcomed surprise to millions of fans around the globe. Even though the video game company had to release the trailer ahead of schedule because of a massive leak, people are still excited about learning more details about GTA 6.

From the announcement, we can gather a few snippets about the game. For starters, the main character, Lucia, is the first female protagonist in GTA history. Plus, the game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Obviously, more details will emerge as we get closer to the release date, so feel free to join our Grand Theft Auto 6 discussion boards if you want to discuss everything GTA 6. We also have a ton of unconfirmed leaks and speculations waiting for your opinions.

    • Hello gamers! While waiting for new details on GTA6, I am happy to announce that today, we released a new project that means a lot to us (and hopefully to you). MapMaster.io is focused on providing top-notch interactive games for the latest video games. This project took over five months to develop by an awesome team from Ukraine (yes, during the war), but despite the minor bugs that still exist and are being fixed, the finished product is amazing. While there are other websites that currently provide interactive maps, MapMaster is a bit different, as I am sure you'll notice. First of all, we have a clean interface without all the bling bling that can distract users. Second (and this is far more important), our team has tested all locations on our growing library of video games. In other words, you won't find outdated information, wrongfully placed markers (unless we made honest mistakes), or markers without clearly explaining what you should do when you get to those locations on the map. Furthermore, most locations come with clear screenshots from the games you are tracking. Obviously, you can track your progress, add notes, reset your progress on a game, and much, much more. Last but not least, we don't charge users for tracking locations. Simply put, if you register on our website, you can mark all locations for free. Registration is required to track your progress. Now, without further ado, here is the list of game maps we currently completed, our current projects, and what the future holds. I'll keep this thread updated and looking forward to your suggestions: Completed Game Maps: Red Dead Redemption 1 Dying Light Tunic Kena: Bridge of Spirits Ghost of Tsushima Sonic Frontiers PoP: The Lost Crown Tales of Kenzera: Zau Rise of the Ronin Interactive Game Maps Under Development: Elden Ring Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Ireland is completed) Grand Theft Auto 5 Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Dragon's Dogma 2 Future Maps: Black Myth: Wu Kong Star Wars Outlaws Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Assassin’s Creed Shadows Dragon Age 4: The Veilguard God of War: Ragnarok So, what do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
    • @brandon wow! I never thought of that! Playing as a prostitute. But how about Jason? 😏
    • I would really like to become a prostitute in GTA 6 I think that's what everyone wants to play as a prostitute I know there's going to be a female character but if your able to be able to be a prostitute then I think that would be a good idea or there could be random encounters if you were to be a prostitute like one of the people that you work with as a prostitute could be a serial killer or another one be a cop or another one be a military or another one be a billionaire or a kidnaper you get the point
